Five Pricing Mix-Ups We Found (And Fixed)

A lot of menu-price sites just copy numbers from wherever they can find them. That’s how mistakes spread. We checked the numbers against each other and caught five problems worth knowing about.

Fresh Berry Salad isn’t priced wrong — it’s just two different sizes. You’ll see $5.69 in one spot and $11.99 in another. That’s not a typo. $5.69 is the small side portion. $11.99 is the full entrée size, big enough to eat as a meal. Some sites merge these into one number, which makes it look broken. It’s not. Just know which size you’re ordering.

Onion Rings have the same story. $4.99 gets you a side order. $10.99 gets you the full appetizer, made for sharing. Same item, two portions.

The Jr. Cheeseburger and Jr. Chicken Strips show two prices too. Some sources say $8.49. The current official kids’ menu says $7.99, and that price matches every other item on the kids’ menu. We’re going with $7.99 as the real number. If your local IHOP still shows $8.49, that’s probably an old price that hasn’t been updated yet.

The T-Bone Steak Dinner’s calorie count looks broken, because it is. It’s listed at 290 calories. But the T-Bone Steak & Eggs combo, which is basically the same steak plus two eggs, lists 940 to 1,070 calories. A steak alone can’t have a quarter of the calories of steak-and-eggs. That 290 number is almost certainly a data entry mistake somewhere upstream. Don’t trust it. Check IHOP’s official nutrition page if calories matter to your order.

The Pancake Of The Month has no calorie number listed anywhere. That’s not an error, it’s just a gap. The flavor changes monthly, so there’s no fixed number to give. Look up the current month’s flavor in the app for real nutrition info.

Is IHOP Really Open 24 Hours?

Not anymore, at least not everywhere. IHOP built its name on being open around the clock, and plenty of locations still are. But a good chunk of stores moved to regular daytime and evening hours starting in the mid-2010s. Some close for a few hours overnight. Some don’t.

If a site tells you every IHOP is open 24/7, that’s outdated information. The honest answer is: check your specific location before you drive over at 2 a.m.

DayTypical Hours (varies by location)
Monday–SundayCommonly 6 AM–11 PM, or 24 hours where still offered

How to Save Money at IHOP

  1. Order off the 55+ menu if you qualify. Same style of food, smaller portions, lower prices.
  2. Split a Family Feast instead of buying combos one by one. Feeding four to six people this way usually costs less per person than separate orders.
  3. Check the app before you go. IHOP runs app-only deals on specific pancake flavors and combos that don’t show up on the in-store menu board.
  4. Look for kids-eat-free nights. These come and go, so they’re not guaranteed, but they pop up often enough to be worth checking.
  5. Build your own omelette if you only want two or three fillings. It starts several dollars cheaper than the specialty versions.

About IHOP

IHOP opened its first restaurant on July 7, 1958, in Toluca Lake, California. Brothers Al and Jerry Lapin started it as a single pancake house. Today it’s one of the largest sit-down breakfast chains in the country, run mostly through franchise owners under Dine Brands Global.

It sits in the same category as other big American breakfast and family-dining chains — you can compare its pricing structure to similar menu price guides on this site.

Why Prices Change by Location

IHOP restaurants are mostly franchise-owned. That means the person who owns your local IHOP sets the final price, within limits set by the company.

Prices tend to run higher in expensive cities and lower in smaller towns. This is normal across the fast casual and family-dining space, not something unique to IHOP.

FAQs

How much does an IHOP Family Feast cost?

Family Feasts run from $33.99 to $35.99. Each one feeds four to six people and is only available through IHOP ‘N GO takeout.

Why does Fresh Berry Salad show two different prices?

Because it comes in two sizes. $5.69 is the side portion. $11.99 is the full entrée size. Both are correct, just for different orders.

Is IHOP open 24 hours near me?

Maybe. Many locations still are, but a large number switched to standard hours years ago. Check your specific restaurant before heading out late at night.

How much do IHOP kids meals cost?

Most kids’ menu items are $7.99. Jr. Cinnamon Dippers cost less, at $4.49.

Who started IHOP, and when?

Al and Jerry Lapin opened the first IHOP on July 7, 1958, in Toluca Lake, California.

What’s the cheapest thing on the IHOP menu?

Turkey Bacon Strips, at $1.49.

Does IHOP have a senior menu?

Yes. The 55+ menu offers smaller portions of popular breakfast items at lower prices, for guests 55 and older.

The Bottom Line

IHOP’s 2026 menu runs from $1.49 sides to $35.99 family feasts, with most people landing somewhere around $15 for a full combo. A few numbers floating around online don’t quite add up — like the Fresh Berry Salad pricing or that T-Bone Steak Dinner calorie count — but now you know why, and which numbers to trust.

Since every location is independently owned, always double-check pricing and hours with your local IHOP or the app before you go.
